Definitely do not have to be black. If the code is "black tie" is just a way of ensuring that everyone knows it's a formal occasion. A cocktail dress, long dress, long skirt and top are all all right. Its elegant dress calf sounds great. Just make sure your accessories and in line with the night. Is likely to stick to one kind of evening bag and shoes in line with the whole would be better …… nothing worse than carrying a big bulky bag but I hope you do not need me to tell you that.
